8 Days
Massage, Yoga

Imagine 7 magical nights on the “Island of the Gods” – Bali, up on the mountain in Tabanan, amongst the treetops, away from the busy and crowded South Bali.

Start the day with a rejuvenating yoga class in the open-plan bamboo yoga shala, followed by a sumptuous breakfast. From there, choose from taking a time out at the reflection bale, pampering yourself with luxurious massages or spa treatments, or have a wander in the 1-hectare plantation and swim in the creek at the bottom of the valley.  At sundown we’ll gather for a restorative yoga class and meditation, and savour a delicious dinner overlooking the beautiful lush plantation and majestic Mount Batukaru.

This retreat is designed for anyone yearning to reconnect with themselves and with nature by way of practicing daily yoga and enjoying the unspoilt sides of Bali. Restore and replenish your energy with dynamic strength building practice in the mornings and a gentler restorative practice in the evenings.

Your Retreat begins at Alassari Plantation, a luxury estate created by the owners Craig and Val in support of the local community of Biyahan, on the mountainous range of Batukaru. Set in a private coffee plantation and high on the mystical Mount Batukaru in Bali’s central rainforest, the energy of this special place is instantly felt upon entering the gates.

Wake up in the rainforest to the sound of birds, and local wildlife, you can hear the gentle murmur of the creek down the valley, as the day heats up, the butterflies come out to play and the sun rests above the trees.
Whilst the venue is a luxury experience, it is a very traditional Balinese/Javanese blend style accommodation with antiques personally sourced by Craig and Val, making each room uniquely distinguished.

Whether you are an advanced Yoga practitioner or beginner, our experienced Yoga Teacher will support and guide you throughout your week and beyond.

There will be plenty of free time to enjoy a swim in the pool, read a book, have a massage, have a walk around the lush plantation, and take a time out for reflection.

Val Poczwa Glenister began ballet at the tender age of four years, continued her studies under the Royal Academy of Dancing (RAD), eventually obtaining the highest qualification, the Solo Seal.

After winning her first scholarship to the New Zealand Ballet School, Val won a further scholarship to the Royal Ballet School in London. She graduated and joined the Belgium Ballet Company and danced for a number of years professionally, throughout Europe.

At the suggestion of legendary promotor Harry M Miller, Val moved to Australia and put together an Adagio Act and Dance Troupe, which toured Asia and Australia for five years.

As a natural progression, Val has applied herself to Hatha, Ashtanga and Kriya Yoga, bringing the unique drive and determination, essential to an elite ballet dancer. With the professional understanding of movement and how the body functions, Val now imparts her knowledge to her many students. Over the past 35 years she has practiced yoga and pilates daily.
