In essence the property operates in the same way as a small island resort. However, as opposed to being on a private island as resorts are, it is situated on part of a locally inhabited island. Unlike guesthouses on a local island, in order to maintain guest’s privacy locals do not have unlimited access to the property, however, having said that, locals are part of the team and Barefoot contributes to the community.
Barefoot is not designed to be solely a yoga retreat. Guests visit to relax and enjoy a Maldives holiday at great value. Guests are there to SCUBA dive or for self-indulgent spa treatments and to participate in the twice daily yoga classes.
